Coming off the success of “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” director Ruben Fleischer has been enlisted to helm a two-hander action comedy for Netflix called “Project Jared” that is set to star Jason Momoa (“Dune: Part Three”), Andy Samberg (“Palm Springs”), Jai Courtney (“War Machine,” “Jack Reacher”), and Aime Carrero (“My Friends & Neighbors”).
The major update of Fleischer’s involvement comes from Deadline, which also revealed that production on “Project Jared” is underway in Oahu, Hawaii, alongside the latest casting additions joining Momoa and Samberg in the streaming flick.

Sadly, we’ll have to wait a little longer for concrete plot details for “Project Jared,” as information is a little scarce at the moment. However, we do know that Samberg’s Party Over Here and Momoa’s On The Roam banner are set as producers.
Fleischer’s directing credits over the years include the beloved comedic horror film “Zombieland,” the first Tom Hardy-led “Venom” movie kicking off the Sonyverse, Tom Holland‘s “Uncharted (after decades lingering in development limbo), and the period crime thriller “Gangster Squad.”
You may remember that Momoa has been going out of his way to shoot projects in Hawaii; recent examples of that include the Prime film “The Wrecking Crew” (paired up with pal Dave Bautista), and the acclaimed Apple TV series “Chief of War.’ He’ll be seen in Denis Villeneuve‘s “Dune: Part Three” this December, has a cameo as Lobo in DC Studios‘ “Supergirl,” and is set to return for the sequel to the hit video game movie “A Minecraft Movie” alongside Jack Black.
Given the high-profile nature of “Project Jared,” we suspect there might be more additions to the cast in the coming weeks, with cameras now rolling. Stay tuned!
