James Cameron Rebukes Trump’s Horrific Comments About Death Of Beloved Rob Reiner: “It Debases Our Entire Culture To Be That Vile”

In the wake of the tragic death of actor/filmmaker Rob Reiner and his photographer wife, Michele Singer Reiner, we’ve been inundated with a slew of warm and loving quotes from across the entertainment spectrum over the last week or so. However, others have pushed back directly on extremely ghoulish sentiments by a nasty and spiteful President Trump, attacking the two murder victims (Michelle snapping the photo used in Trump’s “Art of the Deal” book), blaming their “deranged” political leanings for their brutal murder (as far as we gather, politics having zero to do with the murder purpotrated by their son, Nick Reiner).

Fellow filmmaker James Cameron of “Avatar: Fire & Ash” is also adding his own rebuke on his recent promotional tour, calling the “vile” comments about the Reiners contributing to debasing “our entire culture.” Cameron spoke with CNN’s Jason Caroll, rebuking Trump’s horrific comments about the tragic events.

“It’s vile, it debases our entire culture to be that vile, and knowing that there are people in our collective society that are cheering for that. Rob was a true artist, and he stood for certain principles. And, you know, my family really enjoys “The Princess Bride.” That’s a movie we can put on at any time; everybody knows all the dialogue. You know, he’s had an impact on so many lives over the years, and it’s just, it’s just a tragedy. But it’s incumbent on all of us, I think, to remember his legacy and to work hard on these issues of addiction with a little more compassion, I think, than sort of just criminalizing it and marginalizing it.”

Reiner, the son of equally famous comedian Carl Reiner, who many first discovered when he acted on the small screen with his role as Michael/Meathead on Norman Lear‘s iconic “All In The Family” (oddly enough, tackled bigotry, that sadly still exists today). He would go on to become a high-profile director with movies such as the mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap” (a sequel was released earlier in the year, helmed by Reiner), the coming-of-age Stephen King adaptation “Stand By Me,” “Misery,” the aforementioned romantic fantasty comedy “The Princess Bride,” the seminal rom-com “When Harry Met Sally” co-written with Nora Ephron, “The American President,” “Ghosts of Mississippi,” and Oscar-winning JAG courtroom drama “A Few Good Men” (penned by a young Aaron Sorkin). Some of his notable supporting acting roles saw Reiner appear in projects like Martin Scorsese‘s “The Wolf of Wall Street” and Ephron’s own iconic rom-com “Sleepless in Seattle.”

Even actor James Woods, who is a massive jackass and longtime Trump loyalist, was in tears last week on Fox News when denouncing and countering Trump’s disgusting statements, having worked with Reiner on the drama “Ghosts of Mississippi” and being able to love the man, despite disagreeing with him on political views.

It says everything how many glowing quotes about the Reiners are making the rounds, drowning out the ghoulish nastiness as the current President, who is pushing 80 years old, as he’s obviously worried about his own legacy and public image (with the Epstein Files exposing his strong, longstanding relationship with dead billionaire pedophile/child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein on a weekly/daily basis) and showing signs of his age alongside potential mental health problems (media/public are still waiting to learn the true medical reasons why Trump was getting MRIs and taking dementia tests, while boasting about his “health”).
