‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ Adds Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay & Peter Mullan To Season 2 Cast Lineup

The second season of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” has been shooting in Belfast, Ireland, and we finally know about the new faces added to that cast lineup for the “Game of Thrones” prequel spinoff, taking cues from George R.R. Martin‘s second “Tales of Dunk & Egg” novella, “The Sworn Sword.”

It was revealed by Variety that we’ll see Lucy Boynton (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) as Lady Rohanne, Babou Ceesay (“Alien: Earth) as Ser Bennis, and lastly veteran Scottish actor Peter Mullan (“I Swear,” “Children of Men”) as Ser Eustace Osgrey in the mature fantasy series. Of course, the latter addition isn’t unfamiliar with this genre after playing a dwarf king in Prime‘s popular show “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and being featured in “The Witcher.”

In the first season of the show, we see Ser Duncan the Tall, a naive knight navigating a local tournament with his newly acquired cheeky squire, who turns out to be Prince Aegon IV Targaryen, the future king. Their adventures continue in the next two seasons.

This casting update comes after star Peter Claffey recently clearifed that Henry Cavill won’t be appearing after a New York Comic-Con interview went viral where co-star Dexter Sol Ansell seemingly suggested the former “The Witcher” could be appearing in it after internet rumblings claimed he’d play Daemon Blackfyre (an adversary from a bastard wing of the Targaryen family that led his own rebellion against the crown).

Showrunner Ira Parker co-created the spinoff series with Martin, as both are serving as executive producers. Other executive producers on the HBO Max project include Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal, and Vince Gerardis.
