‘Hit Me Hard & Soft’ Trailer: Billie Eilish & James Cameron Co-Direct New Concert Film Using 3D Cameras

One of the more mouthful titles we’ve seen for studio project, “Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard & Soft: The Tour (Live In 3D),” is heading to theaters next month as the iconic pop star has teamed up with filmmaker James Cameron for a unique look into Billie Eilish‘s tour with the help of 3D cameras taking audiences on a ride of a lifetime.

As the official logline states, the pic will be an “innovative new concert experience to the big screen from one of the most celebrated and successful artists of her generation.” A new trailer for the film has made its way to us to share.

We were sort of shocked when it was announced Cameron had linked up with Eilish for the concert film, but we have to imagine that, being stuck in the world of “Avatar” for the better part of two decades, the director likely needed a break. “Hit Me Hard & Soft” certainly allowed him to do something real in-camera alongside documenting what it’s like on tour for Eilish.

Cameron is coming off “Avatar: Fire & Ash,” which saw a steep dip at the box office in comparison to “Avatar: The Way of Water,” but there are reports that Disney/20th Century Studios is making some demands of the next two sequels (“Avatar 4-5”), in the hopes they’d be “shorter” and “cheaper.”

“Hit Me Hard & Soft” won’t be Eilish’s only big screen outing as the singer had been recently enlisted by writer/director Sarah Polley (“Women Talking”) for a feature film adaptation of Sylvia Plath‘s novel “The Bell Jar.” Marking her major acting debut with the drama.
