Over the weekend, fans had spotted what may be sets being built for Alex Garland‘s live-action “Elden Ring” film for A24, based on the recent video game, and it looks like the filmmaker is going to be reuniting with another cast member from “Civil War” on the project.
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter posted last Friday to promote his new series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” actor Nick Offerman let it slip that he has a part to play in “Elden Ring,” giving the impression he could have a physical role, but who that might be is a little less clear, at the moment.

“If I’m not grilling meat in the scene, then I probably need to do some homework. Even now, as we speak, I’m preparing to go work on a movie with Alex Garland for which I have some intense voice work and physical work to do,” the actor said, alluding to Garland’s “Elden Ring.”
Created by FromSoftware‘s Hidetaka Miyazaki with help from George R.R. Martin, “Elden Ring” lets gamers embark on various adventures across a massive, but deadly, medieval fantasy world that includes dungeons, dragons, and more. However, it is a lot darker than most games, allowing for Garland’s love of grim subject matter to be explored in his adaptation.
This wouldn’t even be Offerman’s first video game project, as he recently had a meaty role in the first season of HBO‘s “The Last of Us,” playing a prepper who ends up finding love with a tragic ending. And, of course, he previously played the American President in Garland’s “Civil War,” which may also feature actress Cailee Spaney (“Alien: Romulus”), who is said to be circling a key part alongside Kit Connor (“Warfare”) and Ben Wishaw (“Skyfall”).
Given that the movie is looking to begin principal photography soon, we’re hopeful that A24 announces the full cast of “Elden Ring” officially in the very near future. Anywho, Offerman is certainly a welcome addition to the fantasy film’s lineup.
