Filming has begun on Iranian-American director Ramin Bahrani‘s latest feature effort in Las Vegas, Nevada, on the aptly titled “Vegas: A Love Story.” A Vegas-set romantic thriller that has landed quite an impressive lineup of acting talent on the project’s call sheet.
Those names attaching themselves in key roles for “Vegas: A Love Story” include Maika Monroe (“Longless”), Brandon Sklenar (“The Housemaid”), Paul Dano (“The Wizard of the Kremlin”), Michael Shannon (“Nuremberg”), and lastly the lovely Judy Greer (“The Long Walk”). Others taking roles are Beau Foxx, Maximilliana, Dylan Flashner, and Natasha Yi as Bahrani directs the movie from a script he penned with co-writer Bahareh Azimi.

A logline for the new thriller via Deadline’s report, featuring character details:
“Vegas: A Love Story” unfolds beneath the glow of the Las Vegas Strip, where Dillon (Monroe), a gifted graphic designer hustling for work, falls into a passionate, unexpected romance with Freddy (Sklenar), a welder and single father struggling to rebuild his life. As Dillon hides the fact that she’s living out of her car, Freddy’s wary in-laws (Shannon and Greer) step in to protect their grandson. The return of Ryder (Dano), Dillon’s charming but self-destructive ex, threatens to unravel everything.
“Vegas” also has a team of producers with Jason Michael Berman (past credits consisting of Spike Lee‘s “Highest 2 Lowest” and “The Birth of a Nation“) as well as Jordan Moldo of A/Vantage Pictures, Andrea Bucko of Sugar Rush Pictures, Matthew Lindner of Juniper Productions (handinling the main financing), Bahrani and Azimi of Noruz Films, and Monroe (the main role written with her in mind).
Quite the impressive grouping of actors and Bahrani’s previous work, such as “White Tiger,” “99 Homes” (featuring Shannon alongside Andrew Garfield), and an adaptation of the Ray Bradbury dystopian tale “Fahrenheit 451” (had Shannon co-starring with Michael B. Jordan), signals that “Vegas: A Love Story” could be something special.
