British filmmaker Corin Hardy is behind the crime series “Gangs of London,” but is returning to the world of horror after previously dipping his toes into James Wan’s The Conjuring universe with “The Nun.” His latest feature film, coming to theaters next month, is “Whistle,” which focuses on a group of high school kids and the horrific supernatural events connected to an Aztec whistle.

An official synopsis of the upcoming flick provided by IFC and Shudder:
A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.
Hardy, you might remember, was once attached to direct an iteration of “The Crow” remake, back when Jason Momoa was set to star, before the two exited, only for Rupert Sanders and Bill Skarsgård to bring the project to the finish line. He directs “Whistle” from a script that was penned by author and screenwriter Owen Egerton.
That aforementioned trailer and a new poster for “Whistle” can be viewed below, as the horror flick heads to theaters on February 6.
