British actor Stephen Graham is coming off a sensational award season for his breakout family crime drama “Adolescence” (winning acting awards at both the Emmys and, more recently, at the Golden Globes), but isn’t slowing down as he has a new movie coming out from Polish filmmaker Jan Komasa (“Corpus Christi”) in March called “Heel” after screening at the Toronto International Film Festival last year (formerly under the title of “Good Boy“).
In “Heel,” Graham plays a twisted father alongside his wife, played by Oscar nominee Andrea Riseborough (“Black Mirror,” “To Leslie”), as they have decided to chain up a hooligan named Tommy, played by Anson Boon, in an attempt tame the wild lad’s wicked ways after abducting him during one of his regular benders.

An official logline for the twisted thriller, courtesy of the film’s distributor, Magnolia Pictures:
A twisted thriller that follows 19-year-old hooligan Tommy (Anson Boon), who revels in a life of drugs, parties, and violence. One night, on a bender with his reckless friends, he becomes separated from the group and is abducted by an unknown figure (Stephen Graham). Though he is no stranger to inflicting violence, he is enraged and horrified when he wakes to find himself chained in the basement of the isolated suburban family home of Chris (Graham), his wife Kathryn (Andrea Riseborough), and their young son Jonathan (Kit Rakusen). The family sets out to reform Tommy’s unruly behavior, forcing him to comply with their relentless mind games or seek escape at any cost.
The busy Graham has also been seen on the Steven Knight period series “A Thousand Blows” (the second season debuted ealier this month) which has led to a new first-look deal with Disney+ through his production banner Matriach Productions (founded alongside his creative partner and wife Hannah Walters) for the next two-years and was recently rumored as being in the mix for a meaty role in Michael Mann‘s “Heat 2” that already has Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale reportedly up for lead parts.
You can view that new trailer and poster for “Heel” below, as the movie is unleashed in both theaters and on demand on March 6.
