Director Guy Ritchie has recently been busy with the second seasons of his gangster TV shows “The Gentlemen” and “MobLand” (alongside “Young Sherlock“,) but had a feature film sort of left in limbo with “In The Grey.” An actioner starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González that finally has an official release date.
Yesterday, it was revealed by Deadline that Black Bear (also behind the upcoming Jason Statham thriller “Shelter“) secured the film’s distribution rights from Lionsgate, after that studio had been sitting on the film and had been set to release it in the U.S., as Black Bear is set to unleash the pic in theaters on April 10.

A logline for the movie was also mentioned in the outlet’s report:
Follows a covert team of elite operatives who live in the global shadows, as comfortable wielding power and influence as they are automatic weapons and high explosives. When a ruthless despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to steal it back on what would be for anyone else a suicide mission. What begins as an impossible heist gets much worse, spiraling into an all-out war of strategy, deception, and survival.
“In The Grey” is produced by Ritchie and Ivan Atkinson (Ritchie’s creative partner) for their production banner Toff Guy, John Friedberg for Black Bear, and Dave Caplan for C2. Others among the film’s cast include Kristofer Hivju (“Game of Thrones”), Fisher Stevens (“Song Sung Blue”), and Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike (“Gone Girl”).
The upcoming Ritchie feature, on that date, will be going up against NEON‘s “The Christophers” and Universal‘s “You, Me & Tuscany,” which stars Halle Bailey and Rege-Jean Page. Lionsgate will reportedly still handle the film’s digital and pay-TV distribution.
