‘Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom’ Trailer: Aardman Returns With Spooky Halloween Animated Effort Coming To Theaters This Fall

The world of “Wallace & Gromit” continues to expand with the latest effort from Aardman, the acclaimed animation studio behind the beloved string of British claymation stop-motion films. StudioCanal, the distributor of the next big spinoff, “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom,” heading to theaters later this year, shared with us a new trailer for the comedic animated pic.

This time, it looks like Shaun the Sheep (also a TV series) will be moving into the genre of movie monsters, with Shaun taking on the persona of a mad scientist (what looks like an homage to classic horror films like “Frankenstein”) after tackling aliens and sci-fi beats in the last installment, “Farmageddon.”

Steve Cox and Matthew Walker co-direct the new movie, based on a script by Mark Burton and Giles Pilbrow, with a cast including Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, Kate Harbour, Richard Webber, Emma Tate, Simon Greenall, Andy Nyman, Anna Leong Brophy, and Marcus Brigstocke.

An official logline for the third “Shaun the Sheep” movie:

“Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom” sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween, until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns mad scientist to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control…With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.
