‘Disclosure Day’ Final Trailer: Steven Spielberg Returns To Sci-Fi On June 12 With Mysterious UFO Thriller Starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor & Colin Firth

Steven Spielberg has been a filmmaker best known for dipping his toes in and out of the sci-fi genre with projects like “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” “E.T.,” “War of the Worlds,” “Minority Report,” “Artificial Intelligence,” and “Ready Player One” under his belt, with a very prestigious career moving between blockbusters and awards caliber dramas. With his new mystery box UFO action-adventure movie “Disclosure Day” coming to theaters next month, a new trailer has made its way to us, as it stars Emily Blunt (“Edge of Tomorrow”), Josh O’Connor (“Wake Up Dead Man”), Colin Firth (“The Kingsman”), Eve Hewson (“Jay Kelly”), and Colman Domingo (“The Running Man”).

Sadly, Universal Pictures and Amblin isn’t sharing concrete plot details about their new event movie that has a story that was hatched between Spielberg and veteran screenwriter David Koepp (also penned the script), the two have previously worked together on “Jurassic Park,” “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” “War of the Worlds,” and “Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (had a plot with aliens and the infamous Area 51).

However, what we see from the footage is a wide-ranging conspiracy plot featuring aliens making themselves known to humans and O’Connor’s character Daniel Kellner going on the run from authorities after making a classified discovery with Blunt’s weather anchor Margaret Fairchild channelling the alien language/message.

An official but obscure logline for the pic, courtesy of Universal:

If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to…Disclosure Day.
