George Michael is getting a new concert film that is set to hit theaters sometime in 2026, thanks to George Michael Entertainment and Mercury Studios. The yet-to-be-dated pic titled “George Michael: The Faith Tour” taps into the height of the pop singer’s (who was only 24 at the time) global fame, as it will use previously captured footage from the Paris concerts during his 1988 tour that kicked off in Japan’s famous Budokan arena in Tokyo
Of course, the name of the tour film hailing from directors Andy Morahan and David Austin (longtime collaborators of Michael) originates from his hit solo 1987 album and single, “Faith.” Shot at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, they were able to piece together the movie by using a 14-camera setup using 35mm to record the Paris set taking place over two nights.

That’s not it, as “George Michael: The Faith Tour” will be accompanied by a new 18-track album (coming from Sony Music Entertainment) of previously unheard performances by the late pop icon, which should make die-hard fans extremely happy. It features multiple unreleased recordings from both Wham! and Michael’s solo era.
The British singer with Greek ancestry made massive waves in the world of pop music, first with the duo act Wham! in the 1980s, giving us plenty of earworm tunes, before breaking up with bandmate Andrew Ridgeley and going on with a very successful solo career. Sadly, Michael would pass away in 2016 at the age of 53, leaving many of his devoted fans and the world devastated by the loss.
Mercury Studios was previously behind “One to One: John & Yoko,” “American Symphony,” and “Prince: Sign O’ the Times.” You can watch that brief teaser footage for “George Michael: The Faith Tour” below, alongside some of the first-look images (via Deadline) from the concert movie.
