‘Rabbit, Rabbit’: Alison Pill, Brian D’Arcy James & More Join Adam Driver In Netflix Hostage Series From Philip Barantini

Philip Barantini, Peter Craig, and Netflix have teamed up for a new hostage drama series titled “Rabbit, Rabbit,” with Adam Driver (“Marriage Story”) and Regina Hall (“One Battle After Another”) starring, and a slew of new names are now part of the cast.

That hefty group of actors revealed by Deadline that have joined the high-profile streaming series include Alison Pill (“The Newsroom”), Brian D’Arcy James (“Spotlight”), Spencer Reed Tomich (“The Prom”), Susanna Flood (“Broadway’s Liberation”), Ada Bland (“Capsized”), Alex Morf (“Mindhunter”), Annie Golden (“Orange is the New Black”), April Matthis (“Not Suitable for Work”), Ashlyn Maddox (“The Four Seasons”), C.J. Wilson (“The Gilded Age”), Darion Basco (“NCIS”), Jason Schmidt (“The Outsiders”), Jeremy Gill (“Cat Person”), Kai Drake (“Goosechase”), Karoline (“A Different Man”), Liz Caribel Sierra (“God’s Time”), Mac Brandt (“Good Night and Good Luck”), Mike Houston (“Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2”), Patch Darragh (“56 Days”), Reed Birney (“The Menu”), Sam Vartholomeos (“A House of Dynamite”), Samantha Jones (“Murder at the End of the World”), Sara Gutierrez (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”), and Thomas Francis Murphy (“Manhunt”).

An official logline for the thriller series via Netflix:

When an escaped convict (Driver) is cornered by law enforcement at a truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom. But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives, as well as an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI Crisis Negotiator (Hall) trained in “tactical empathy.

Barantini should be a familiar name as the British director helmed the high-pressure kitchen drama “Boiling Point,” and the Emmy-winning miniseries “Adolescence,” and a reunion with Netflix is likely very much welcomed by the streaming service. It’s not the only other project he’s directed for Netflix, as he worked with them on “Enola Holmes 3,” which stars Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Himesh Patel, and Helena Bonham Carter.

Craig, who writes and showruns “Rabbit, Rabbit,” is a veteran screenwriter who has a lot of experience working on crime/genre projects such as “Dope Thief,” “Gladiator II,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “The Batman,” and “The Town.”

Despite previously reporting that Will Poulter and Odessa Young would also be showing up in “Rabbit, Rabbit,” they’re oddly not mentioned in the outlet’s new casting update (maybe just a minor oversight?). With that said, production on “Rabbit, Rabbit,” is currently underway in New Jersey, and we cannot wait to see some footage from it.
