Filmmaker Halina Reijin, known for her recent efforts “Bodies Bodies Bodies” and “Babygirl” is reteaming with A24 for a new film titled “Please,” which is looking to add two more high-profile names to its growing cast.
Variety reported that on-the-rise actor David Jonsson (“The Chaperones”) and Deadline reported that Connor Storrie (“Heat Rivalry”) have been tapped for the pic. They’ll be joining Tom Burke (“Blade Runner 2099,” “Furiosa”) and singer-turned-actress Gracie Abrams, who is making her acting debut on the mysterious project.

Jonsson, recently seen in the Stephen King adaptation “The Long Walk” and prison flick “The Wasteman,” is expected to reunite with “Alien: Romulus” co-star Caliee Spaeny for a direct sequel penned by Fede Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues, while the studio is reportedly courting “The Death of Robin Hood” director Michael Sarnoski to helm the next sci-fi horror installment. He’s also set to play singer/actor Sammy Davis Jr. in Colman Domingo‘s directorial effort “Scandalous,” where he’ll star opposite Sydney Sweeney.
After making a massive splash on the mega-popular gay romance hockey drama show, “Heated Rivalry,” Storrie is lining up some neat feature film work such as crime thriller “Turpentine” co-starring with Melissa McCarthy (from Rian Johnson and “Mare of Easttown” director Craig Zobel) and is part of the assemble of talent enlisted for another A24 film, Molly Gordon‘s reunion comedy “Peaked.”
More big names may be joining “Please,” but we will have to wait to learn who they are. Sadly, plot and character details for the film are being kept under wraps, but in due time, we’ll likely learn more. Given Abrams’ singing abilities, we cannot rule out music possibly being an element here.
