‘The Death Of Robin Hood’ Promo Videos: Hugh Jackman & Michael Sarnoski Spotlight The Beloved Outlaw Haunted By His Violent Past In A24 Reimagining

Hugh Jackman is embodying the classic fictional English bandit/outlaw Robin Hood in “The Death of Robin Hood,” a new gritty reimaging of the folklore tale hailing from director Michael Sarnoski and A24, with what the title seems to be promising: the final days of Robin and how he ultimately dies.

Others among the cast joining Jackman in the period thriller are Bill Skarsgård (“John Wick 4,” “Barbarian”) as Little John, Jodie Comer (“28 Years Later”), Murray Bartlett “The White Lotus, “The Last of Us”), and Noah Jupe (“Ford v. Ferrari,” “No Sudden Move”)

Jackman and Sarnoski are featured in two new promo videos highlighting their new film as they give audiences a glimpse and sense of the thrilling but dark adventure they’ll be going on next month when “The Death of Robin Hood” is unleashed on the big screen. From the ruthless action sequences placed alongside extremely striking visuals, this brutal and bloody take on the character goes even further than what Ridley Scott attempted to do with his Russell Crowe-led take on the mythology by applying historical elements to fictional characters.

An official synopsis as provided by A24:

Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood (Jackman) finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation.

“He Is No Hero” is the film’s main tagline, and that seems to incapacitate this iteration of the character; Jackman seems to be the best choice for this take after projects like “Prisoners,” “The Prestige,” and “Logan” allowed him to play against his notable nice-guy persona.
