A fourth live-action “Night At The Museum” movie is now in the works at Disney and 20th Century Studios, as Shawn Levy (“Deadpool & Wolverine”) is attached to produce through his production banner 21 Laps Entertainment after previously directing the last three installments in the family-friendly franchise.
In their report, Variety is calling the pic a “reimagining” that has screenwriter Tripper Clancy tasked to pen the new film’s script. The writer’s credits include “Stuber,” “I Am Not Okay With This,” “Die Hart,” and “Die Hart 2: Die Harter.”

First released back in 2006, “Night At The Museum” starred Ben Stiller as a green security guard at New York City’s American Museum of Natural History, only to discover the exhibits magically come to life at night and cause chaos, based on the 1993 book by author Milan Trenc.
It was successful enough to warrant two sequels with “Night At The Museum: Battle of The Smithsonian” and “Night at the Museum: Secret of The Tomb.” Disney+ also released an animated movie iteration, “Night At The Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again,” which debuted in 2022 on the streaming service.
Stiller’s supporting cast in the three movies consisted of Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, Robin Williams, Rickey Gervias, Raimi Malek, Mizo Peck, Amy Adams, Rebel Wilson, Dan Stevens, Ben Kingsley, Brad Garrett, Patrick Gallagher, Hank Azaria, Bill Hader, Carlo Gugino, Mickey Rooney, and Dick Van Dyke.
However, given the talk of a reboot/soft-reboot, it is unclear if any of the original “Night At The Museum” cast will be participating with this new project or if Levy, who is gearing up to helm “Star Wars: Starfighter,” will be able to find time to direct this one.
