'The Mother' Teaser Trailer: Jennifer Lopez Stars In An Assassin Actioner For Director Niki Caro

Today is Tudum day: Netflix‘s annual flex where the streamer shows off the goods for upcoming films; new teasers, posters, trailers, first looks, announcements, and more. And much of the day was dedicated to impressive-looking action films like “Extraction 2 and a new Jennifer Lopez-starring assassin movie called, “The Mother.

The director behind “The Mother” is Niki Caro, known for the spectacular action she brought to Disney‘s live-action version of “Mulan.” The film places the singer/actress in a more action-driven role which we don’t see her in very often. Lopez plays “a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up years before while on the run from dangerous men.” It sounds Jason Bourne-esque, and the trailer gives off gritty, grimy assassin vibes mixed with mama bear protectiveness.
