“Jessica Jones” actress Krysten Ritter, Marvel Television‘s Brad Winderbaum, and “Vision Quest” showrunner Terry Matalas spoke with Brandon Davis at a recent Phase Hero Live event at the West Side Comedy Club on Sunday during the tail-end of the New York Comic-Con. In that conversation, both Ritter and Winderbaum teased that fans should expect to see more of the smart-mouthed Jones beyond her major return to the superhero role for the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again.”
When jokingly asked about when we can expect “Jessica Jones: Born Again,” Winderbaum responded with, “Maybe sooner than you think.”

“There’s a lot of stuff that I’ve felt there was room to explore, and Brad [Winderbaum] and I talked about it. And I’m not going to say any of it, because we’re going to be doing it,” Ritter said moments afterward.
Could we see a “Jessica Jones Special Presentation” similar to Jon Bernthal‘s upcoming one for Frank Castle/Punisher instead of a straight-to-series revival? It certainly feels like a cost-effective way to gauge Disney+ audiences’ interest for a full season, instead of spending a heap of cash on a new show without entirely knowing if the eyeballs are going to be there. The streamer/studio is already scaling back episode counts, as seen with “Marvel Zombies” recently only getting 4 episodes compared to other Marvel Animation projects. Then again, “Jessica Jones” was certainly one of the more popular Netflix/Marvel shows, and fans do seem genuinely excited by Ritter’s return.
With “DDBA” already getting a third season greenlight, there is a strong possibility Ritter could be back there as well, and plenty of other options for Ritter’s big MCU comeback.
Funny enough, over the weekend, Ritter leaked the “Daredevil: Born Again” season two trailer on her social media account, recording the footage and uploading it from her phone. Although we have big doubts she’s going to get any sort of dressing down by Disney/Marvel security, as the MCU projects on Disney+ could use the extra viral marketing.
If you’re curious what else the group talked about during that Phase Zero Live event, you can watch/listen to that full discussion between Davis and his MCU guests below.
