Star Wars Celebration has been underway in Japan, and a neat update for the second season of “Ahsoka” was announced at the event, as Anakin Skywalker actor Hayden Christensen is officially returning for more episodes.
Christensen had played a Force Ghost in the previous season and played both a Clone Wars-era version of Skywalker and Darth Vader in the limited series “Obi-Wan Kenobi” opposite Ewan McGregor. The Canadian actor is expected to continue that mentor role for Rosario Dawson‘s former Jedi-in-training, Ahsoka.
Also, Lucasfilm showcased the first look (via IGN) at “Game of Thrones” actor Rory McCann in the role of Baylan Skoll, who was recast after the sudden passing of Ray Stevenson. That’s not it, but we’ll also see the return of Admiral Ackbar, Zeb (will be a featured character in “The Mandalorian & Grogu” movie), the lovable “Star Wars: Rebels” droid Chopper, and more.
Nastasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, Lars Mikkelsen, David Tennant, Eman Esfandi, and Diana Lee Inosanto are expected to reprise their respective parts in the “Star Wars” streaming series as well.
Other things announced at the event include confirmation about Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling‘s “Star Wars: Starfighter” heading to theaters in May 2027, and a new animated series focused on Darth Maul (set before his death in “Rebels”) that seemingly may pick up elements from the cancelled video game project, “Battle of The Sith Lords.”
We’re sure more casting announcements for “Ahsoka” season two are likely, so stay tuned for further updates on that front and get ready for the return of “Andor” on April 22.
