‘Predator: Badlands’ Final Trailer: Yautja & Weyland-Yutani Synthetic Fight To Survive In Sci-Fi Action Crossover Hitting Theaters November 7

Next month sees the “Predator” franchise making its return to the big screen after hiccups like Shane Black‘s “The Predator,” and Dan Trachtenberg‘s last effort, “Prey” being a streaming exclusive, this time the scale is much bigger and pairs a rookie Yautja (the official name of the predator species) teaming up with Elle Fanning‘s Thia, a broken synthetic android from the world of “Alien” ala Weyland-Yutanti (first time the company and androids have crossed over in the film franchise).

A final trailer has dropped today, showcasing even more of the VFX of the film, as we see the two misfits trying form a team on one of the deadliest planets.

Trachtenberg is back as director, as the creative team and 20th Century Studios look to flesh out more of the Yautja lore after co-directing another streaming pic, “Predator: Killer of Killers,” which with “Badlands” crossover elements with the “Alien” universe may potentially leave a door open for a more accurate iteration of “Aliens vs. Predator” down the line. One of the big reasons for that “AVP” resurrection is that the “Predator” franchise, for the first time, has been pushed into a future setting, and allows for human colonists/Colonial Marines to finally meet up for an off-world clash as explored in the more faithful version of the crossover previously established in comics and video games.

An official synopsis courtesy of 20th Century Studios:

Set in the future on a deadly remote planet, “Badlands” follows a young Predator outcast (played by newcomer Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) who finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Elle Fanning) as he embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

“Badlands” has longtime franchise producer John Davis alongside Trachtenberg, Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt, and Brent O’Connor on the team overseeing the sci-fi action project.

You can check out that final trailer for “Predator: Badlands” below, as the pic goes head-to-head against Edgar Wright’s remake of “The Running Man” on November 7 in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD (3D), Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and premium screens everywhere.
