“Let Love In,” the latest feature film effort from Belgian director Felix van Groeningen, has officially started principal photography as announced by MUBI today, which will see him reuniting with actress Charlotte Vandermeersch as she’ll co-star alongside Italian actor Luca Marinelli.
You might remember the filmmaker was nominated for a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar for the 2012 drama “The Broken Circle Breakdown,” and helmed the coming-of-age drug addict drama “Beautiful Boy,” starring Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet as father and son, his English-language debut. A follow-up was Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize winner “The Eight Mountains,” which van Groeningen co-directed and co-wrote with Vandermeersch.

A brief synopsis for “Let Love In” provided by the folks at MUBI:
“Let Love In” is the story of one couple’s emotional journey as they question everything they once took for granted when a long-kept affair is confessed. But what looks like a relationship in crisis reveals itself as a story of healing and reconnection. A quest for honesty, true intimacy, and deep understanding, redefining what it means to be lovers.
The promising romantic drama hails from MUBI, The Match Factory, OUR Films (a Mediawan company), Menuetto, and Rufus in collaboration with Circle One. A producing team features Hans Everaert, van Groeningen, Vandermeersch, Mario Gianani, Lorenzo Mieli, and Lorenzo Gangarossa. Financed by the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), Kinepolis Film Distribution (KFD), Proximus, VRT, and the Belgian tax shelter (in cooperation with BNP Paribas Fortis Film Finance and Casa Kafka Pictures).
As alluded to at the top, filming is underway in Belgium with a script penned by van Groeningen, Vandermeersch, and Anne Paulicevich. Certainly, a festival and awards-friendly film to keep an eye on, given the folks involved here.
