Got a Tip?

Sadie Sink Plays Coy About “Rumors” Of Her Joining Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man 4’: “This Is News To Me”

You might remember the big MCU casting news last week that “Stranger Things” actress Sadie Sink was hired by Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures to star alongside Tom Holland in “Spider-Man 4” with a mysterious role.

Sink is now briefly commenting on the report to Josh Horowitz during their recent chat on the industry podcast, “Happy Sad Confused.” The young actress said, “This is news to me,” when the casting news was brought up. This isn’t the most encouraging response but certainly something we’re all used to as actors aren’t allowed to speak about their participation in projects until Marvel/Sony makes that announcement.

When pressed by Horowitz to dish more details and if she has spoken with Marvel‘s Kevin Feige she responded with, “No, I have nothing to say about this. The rumors are really cool, though. It’s an awesome rumor… It’s a great character, so it’s cool to read.” However, she stopped short of revealing who she is exactly playing.

Funny enough, in the wake of wacky rumblings of Sink playing characters such as “X-Men” member Jean Grey and a variant of Mary Jane Watson, she playfully reposted a social media joke rumor that she was really playing the “MCU version of Uncle Ben” with laughing emojis on her Instagram stories.

“Spider-Man 4” is expected to shoot in England later this year with Destin Daniel Cretton (“Shang-Chi & The Legend of Ten Rings”) in the director’s chair replacing Jon Watts, who directed the previous three installments that have been some of the biggest box office earners in Sony’s history.

The superhero pic landed a prime summer spot next year with a release date set by Sony for July 31, 2026.
