Director Paul Greengrass (“Captain Phillips”) and Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey have teamed up for a wildfire drama titled “The Lost Bus,” which recently got a teaser trailer over the weekend from Apple TV+ and Apple Original Films.
“The Lost Bus” takes a page from our current worst nightmares as wildfires become more commonplace and threats to all communities. In the new Greengrass movie based on the true events of the 2018 Camp Fire, one of the deadliest fires in American history, McConaughey plays a bus driver who is forced to drive a busload of children around an encroaching wildfire, with America Ferrera playing a school teacher as the two attempt to avoid disaster.

The new drama has a script penned by Greengrass and Brad Ingelsby, an adaptation of the fact-based Lizzie Johnson novel “Paradise: One Town’s Struggle To Survive An American Wildfire.” Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions and Jamie Lee Curtis are listed among the film’s producing team.
Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson, and Spencer Watson have supporting roles alongside McConaughey and Ferrera.
A synopsis for the upcoming wildfire pic coming in the fall:
