Oscar-winning actresses Olivia Colman (“The Favourite”) and Brie Larson (“Room”) are joining forces for the psychological thriller series “Cry Wolf,” and the FX limited series has added William Jackson Harper to the show’s call sheet.
That casting update hails from Deadline, as Jackson is likely best known for “The Good Place,” “The Morning Show,” “The Resort,” is also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (like co-stars Larson and Colman) via “Antman & The Wasp: Quantumania,” and had a supporting role in Ari Aster‘s Sweden-set occult thriller “Midsommar.”

This new limited series from FX hails from Sarah Treem (“The Affair,” “In Treatment”), who oversees it and is inspired by the Danish series “Ulven Kommer,” created by Maja Jul Larsen, that sees Colman’s social worker investigating a family after allegations of abuse by their teenage daughter.
Shawn Hatosy, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Jack Greig are also cast members in the project, as Hatosy will play Larson’s character’s husband at the center of the drama.
Within the outlet’s report, they feature the following synopsis:
A psychological family thriller following a social worker, Kath (Colman), and a mother, April (Larson), thrust into crisis when the mother’s teenage daughter, Mia (Lind), alleges abuse, pushing both women to their limits as they navigate an impossible situation.
“Cry Wolf” isn’t the only high-profile project on the horizon at FX, as “Seven Sisters” (after getting a series order) will feature Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti, which is Sean Durkin‘s follow-up to wrestling family drama “The Iron Claw.”
