After years of teasing that “Creed” spinoffs and TV series could be on the way, star and director Michael B. Jordan is confirming that a TV series focused on Adonis’ daughter, Amara, is currently on the table and in the works (he alludes to it being at Amazon Prime Video).
Jordan revealed the project’s status while speaking with Variety on their Awards Circuit podcast, “We’re spinning off doing Adonis’s daughter, Amara’s story, the television show that’s picked up at Amazon. So you’ll be seeing different parts of the Creed-verse, I like to call it. These little IPs are going to keep the universe alive without it being completely reliant on just me to push it through the finish line every time, as a boxer. I’ll be adjacent.”
Sadly, he stopped short of giving specifics (or if he’s aiming to have a large role in the gestating streaming series as Adonis) and who exactly is behind this newly announced Amara Creed spinoff series. However, the TV project isn’t exactly coming entirely from left field, as the previous installment, “Creed 3,” featured Mila Davis-Kent‘s Amara as an aspiring boxer, and there was even the BOOM! Studios‘ comic book “Creed: The Next Round.”
Jordan is currently directing himself in Amazon MGM Studios‘ third version of “The Thomas Crown Affair” and is attached to return for “Creed IV” alongside an expectation to reprise the military action character John Clark for Chad Stahelski‘s “Rainbow Six.” The next big project being lined up for the actor is Joseph Kosinski‘s (“F1,” “Top Gun: Maverick”) 80s-set “Miami Vice” reboot that could see him starring opposite Austin Butler.
You can listen to that full chat between Jordan and Variety in that new episode of Awards Circuit below.
