We really can’t go anywhere online these days without being confronted with AI content, either fake images, video, social media accounts, or the endless controversies of what the future looks like as the technology becomes more commonplace and embedded in all different corners of our lives. With that said, Focus Features is set to release the timely doc, “The AI Doc: of How I Became An Apocaloptimist,” which is heading to theaters next month.
Daniel Roher (director of “Navalny”) and Charlie Tyrell co-direct “The AI Doc,” and a new trailer has made its way to us to share for the anticipated project that includes interviews with OpenAI‘s Sam Altman, Anthropic‘s Dr. Dario Amodei, Google DeepMind‘s Demis Hassabis, and more.

An official synopsis for the new tech doc:
From the Academy Award-winning filmmakers behind “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “Navalny,” a father-to-be tries to figure out what is happening with all this AI insanity. The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist is a hand-made, eye-opening documentary about the most powerful technology humanity has ever created… and what’s at stake if we get it wrong.
The documentary is told through Roher’s eyes as a father-to-be on a quest to understand the world his child is about to inherit. As he grapples with the explosive risks and revolutionary potential of AI, Roher turns to the leading voices shaping and challenging the rise of AI. What emerges is an inspiring call to attention: a real-time exploration of forces advancing faster than ever. Through in-depth conversations with the leading voices in AI, audiences will be confronted with a stark wake-up call that explores the existential dangers and extraordinary promise of this rapidly rising technology.
A producing team assembled features Daniel Kwan (“Playgrounds,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Jonathan Wang (“Playgrounds”), Shane Boris (“Cottage M”), Diane Becker (“Fishbowl Films”), and Ted Tremper.
