A new sci-fi road trip movie, “Amina,” that hails from Japanese-American documentarian filmmaker Brian Tetsuro Ivie (“Emanuel”), which sounds extremely promising as the project has secured talent from FX‘s acclaimed samurai series “Shogun” and the upcoming prequel sci-fi show “Alien: Earth.”
This exciting casting news from Deadline reveals that Sydney Chandler (“Sugar”) and Takehiro Hira (“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”) are set for lead roles. They also included some basic information about the gestating film at Kebrado and Fieldhouse Pictures.

Also, the outlet included the following logline:
An impulsive young woman (Chandler) and a reclusive older man (Hira) embark on a poignant cross‑country road trip. Their mission: to preserve his failing consciousness via an experimental memory‑upload procedure at a cutting‑edge facility.
“I’ve always loved road movies, and I’m very thankful to have two brilliant actors on the journey with me. I really think people will be surprised by where the story goes,” said director Brian Tetsuro Ivie in an official statement.
Tetsuro Ivie wrote the script for “Amina” with Brev Moss working as co-writer on the story. With a producing team that includes those two alongside Harrison Allen and Gregory Daniel King of Kebrado, Kimberly Atwood and Atty Cleworth for Fieldhouse Pictures, Alexander Lycette and Chloe Rahal handling for Gilbara, and Jason Pamer.
It’s also worth mentioning that all Kebrado movies are shot exclusively on 70mm, 35mm, or 16mm film stock, which should be quite the selling point for celluloid enthusiasts that still embrace the traditional way of filmmaking.
We’re curious to see what the supporting cast looks like and how much visual effects will be playing into all of this.
