In 2026, we’re going to be getting a new movie from director Corin Hardy with “Whistle,” and a teaser trailer has made its way to us to share. The project focuses on a group of high school kids who get their hands on an ancient Aztec Death Whistle, leading to horrific events.
Actress Dafne Keen leads the upcoming R-rated horror movie penned by Owen Egerton alongside co-stars Sophie Nélisse, Sky Yang, Jhaleil Swaby, Ali Skovbye, Percy Hynes White, Michelle Fairley, and Nick Frost.
An official logline for “Whistle” from IFC Films and Shudder:
A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down. As the body count rises, the friends investigate the origins of the deadly artifact in a desperate effort to stop the horrifying chain of events that they have set in motion.
Hardy was once attached to direct Jason Momoa‘s version of “The Crow” remake and dabbled in “The Conjuring” universe after making the spinoff pic “The Nun” for New Line Cinema, which spawned a sequel that released in 2023.
Keen is likely best known for playing Laura/X-23 in “Logan” and Marvel‘s “Deadpool & Wolverine,” alongside high-profile genre TV projects like HBO‘s “His Dark Materials” and playing a young Jedi in the “Star Wars” streaming series, “The Acolyte.”
An official release date for “Whistle” has yet to be announced by distributor IFC Films, but you can watch that teaser trailer below.
