The Zellner Brothers (“Sasquatch Sunset”) are back with a new genre-bending project, “Alpha Gang,” and as the movie is on the cusp of wrapping up production, a new casting report has revealed even more high-profile actors have roles in the alien invasion comedy that sees those would-be invaders taking human form of a ruthless biker gang.
According to Deadline, the latest batch of newly announced additions to the cast of “Alpha Gang” features Chris Pine (“Hell or High Water”), Lily-Rose Depp (“Nosferatu”), Kelvin Harrison Jr. (“Waves”), and South Korean actress Doona Bae (“Cloud Atlas,” “The Host”).

It’s looking like quite the stacked cast, as the previously announced group of impressive actors includes Cate Blanchett (“Black Bag”), Léa Seydoux (“No Time To Die”), Dave Bautista (“The Last Showgirl”), and Riley Keough (“Logan Lucky”).
The outlet also mentioned the film’s tantalizing logline, which sounds kind of badass:
“Alpha Gang” follows a group of alien invaders sent to conquer Earth. Disguised in human form as a 1950s leather-clad biker gang, they are ruthless in their mission… until they succumb to the most toxic and contagious human condition of all: emotion.
“Alpha Gang” boasts a producing team consisting of The Zellner Brothers via their banner ZBi, Blanchett and Coco Francini for Dirty Films, Keough and Gina Gammell for Felix Culpa, Ryan Zacarias for Fat City, Andrea Bucko for Sugar Rush Pictures, Mary Aloe for Aloe Entertainment, and Joshua Harris for Peachtree Media Partners.
On the distribution front, mk2 films is repping international sales for the comedic sci-fi pic, after having launched pre-sales last year at the American Film Market, and has also CAA Media Finance representing North American distribution rights.
However, it’s not all good news as Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, and Steven Yeun had been previously linked for roles (Jon Hamm, Nicholas Hoult, and Andrea Riseborough were once mentioned for role as well in the past), but the new report is suggesting they’ve since bowed out for various reasons, citing scheduling and finance issues.
