“Obi-Wan Kenobi” actor Ewan McGregor recently told a crowd of “Star Wars” fans that he is hopeful to be part of a “hypothetical” third season of “Andor” and is calling upon Disney to consider it, or some sort of crossover project.
Speaking to fans during a panel at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto (via Collider), the Scottish actor, who obviously wasn’t under the impression this was a two-season-only show and laments not appearing in it, revealed that when he finally got around to watching “Andor” with the idea that if a third season or a crossover could potentially feature Kenobi.

“And then I got really excited. I was thinking, ‘I think I’m in this timeline. I think I could be in Season 3.’ I was super excited, and then I realized, ‘Oh no.’ So anyway, maybe if there was, I could have squeezed in there, if only. There’s always a chance that maybe there’s a story that’s happening at the same time, where it kind of crosses over. So there’s always a chance if Disney is listening, hypothetically, hypothetically. Come on, Disney.”
If you listen closely in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” there is a minor reference to McGregor’s Kenobi made by Jimmy Schmidt‘s Bail Organa, although we don’t actually see the former Jedi Knight until the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope,” as played by original actor Alec Guinness (why Ewan being in “Andor” isn’t realistic).
Doubtfully, that we’re getting any more “Andor” episodes as Tony Gilroy has ended that chapter, and McGregor asking Disney/Lucasfilm likely isn’t going to change minds anytime soon. Then again, he’s been quite vocal about his desire to return to the Kenobi role; however, that also might be a little difficult to envision.
Lucasfilm has been relying heavily on flashbacks and Force Ghosts for character resurrections like Hayden Christensen‘s Anakin Skywalker, so, in theory, that could be a way to go, or some animated project. Only time will tell, but McGregor seems to be keen on some sort of return.
