“I’m never going to be the actor that goes ‘I don’t tape,'” Clake told podcast host Josh Horowitz about the auditioning process.

When Horowitz tried to get Clarke to dish about her role in the show, and if she was excited about the part, she quickly reminded him of the intense security protocols at the studio.

“Yes. The first people I spoke to with Marvel after getting the role was their security team…I actually live in fear that something is going to happen, and I’m going to say something, and they’ll get upset. But, I play a character that I’m super into everything about it,” Clarke said of her secretive character and her fear from Marvel’s scary security team.

However, she does confirm being part of a Ben Mendelsohn fan club, which might have swayed her involvement.

Emilia Clarke adds that she hasn’t auditioned for Marvel before when asked if she was up for the Sharon Carter role and isn’t sure why it didn’t happen during the “Game of Thrones” years, “I don’t know that happened, I could have been up for it and nobody ever told me…No, this is my first brush [auditioning] with Marvel. I feel like there was the whole time I was with ‘Game of Thrones’; one would imagine that, this is me guessing…[Marvel Studios] didn’t want to take someone that’s in the middle of a massive franchise out of respect, or they just thought I was crap until now [laughs].”

Clarke isn’t the only “Game of Thrones” actor to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Peter Dinklage played Eitiri in “Avengers: Infinity War” along with the Stark lads Kit Harington and Richard Madden nabbing lead roles in Chloe Zhao‘s “Eternals.”

Clarke revealed that she got a glowing review from Kit Harington when asked if she had spoken to him about his time on “Eternals,” “Yes. I haven’t spoken to him since getting [‘Secret Invasion’]. All I know is that he had a fabulous experience; I spoke to him a bunch when he was doing it and got back from it. He just loved it.”

“Secret Invasion,” also stars Christopher McDonald, Killian Scott and is set to shoot in the United Kingdom, will see Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s Skrull leader Talos return for an event that will see the shape-shifting alien, the Skrulls, quietly replace various humans in power alongside superheroes as they attempt to invade the Earth, secretly, which could easily connect to “The Marvels.”
