Joining Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will be Iman Vellani, who plays Kamala Khan in Disney+’s upcoming series, “Ms. Marvel,“ and the adult Monica Rambeau played by Teyonah Parris. Parris will appear first in “Wandavision” on January 15– everything is interconnected, of course. Akira Akbar had been previously cast as the young Monica in the first film. Kamala Khan is a super-fan of Carol Danvers in the comics. Having them paired together alongside Monica will be exciting, given that she also has a superhero alter-ego called Spectrum. The film could essentially end up having one of the first female-dominated hero teams and a diverse one to boot. It sounds like another mini-team-up movie ala “Thor Ragnarok” or “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
The “Captain Marvel” sequel is primed to begin shooting sometime next year as it has a release date of Nov. 11, 2022.
