‘The Abandons’ Trailer: Lena Headey & Gillian Anderson Go Head-To-Head In Kurt Sutter’s Netflix Western Drama Series This December

It’s been a hot moment since Kurt Sutter, the main man behind the acclaimed FX biker shows “Sons of Anarchy” and the spinoff its spinoff “Mayans M.C.,” has made a new show but is making his return to the small screen with the new dramatic Western series “The Abandons” that pits lead matriarch characters played by heavyweight actresses Lena Headey (“Games of Thrones”) and Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files,” “The Crown”) against each other.

Netflix, where the show will make its streaming debut next month, has dropped a new trailer for “The Abandons,” giving would-be audiences a look at what they should look forward to in the Western series hailing from Sutter.

Washington Territory – 1854 – The matriarchs of two very different families — one of wealth and privilege bound by blood, the other a found family of orphans and outcasts bound by love and necessity — find their fates linked by two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath. The collision echoes the American struggle of the haves and have-nots, in a place just beyond the reach of justice.

Sutter leads an executive producer team that also features Chris Keyser, Robert Askins, Stephen Surjik, Otto Bathurst, Emmy Grinwis, and Jon Paré.
