‘Our Hero, Balthazar’ Trailer: Jaeden Martell & Asa Butterfield Lead Oscar Boyson’s Mass Shooter Dark Comedy

Director Oscar Boyson, who was the producer of The Safdie Brothers‘ “Good Time” and executive producer of “Uncut Gems,” is behind the dark comedy “Our Hero, Balthazar,” which is heading to screens in the near future, and we can share the new trailer for it.

The movie, co-written by Boyson and Ricky Camilleri, explores a story of two unlikely young men played by Jaeden Martell and Asa Butterfield, with the lure of preventing a future mass shooting being the connective tissue that brings the New Yorker and Texan together.

An official synopsis for the movie, courtesy of Picturehouse:

“Our Hero, Balthazar” follows two neglected teens thrown together by a chance online encounter. Privileged yet lonely New Yorker Balthy (Jaeden Martell) Malone dreams of becoming a hero, while struggling Texan Solomon Jackson (Asa Butterfield) seeks recognition by posting violent threats. When Balthy, in an act of misguided heroism, travels to Texas in an attempt to befriend Solomon and avert a possible tragedy, he is drawn into a dangerous and thrilling new world. Despite their differences, both find refuge from their crushing loneliness in each other’s company, but for all Balthy’s good intentions, his decisions are driving them close to the precipice of disaster.

Others among the cast include Chris Bauer, Jennifer Ehle, Anna Baryshnikov, Noah Centineo, Becky Ann Baker, Avan Jogia, and Pippa Knowles. A producing team assembled for the pic consists of Boyson, Ricky Camilleri, Jon Wroblewski, David Duque-Estrada, Miles Skinner, Alex Hughes, and Martell.
