Modern slasher horror franchise “The Strangers” is back later this year with a new installment, “The Strangers: Chapter 2,” as Finnish filmmaker Renny Harlin returns to the director’s chair after previously delivering “The Strangers: Chapter 1” last year.
Lionsgate was nice enough to send us a new trailer for the upcoming horror flick to share, which is heading to theaters on September 26, with a cast that features actors such as Madelaine Petsch, Gabriel Basso, and Ema Horvath.

The film’s logline provided by Lionsgate:
The Strangers are back – more brutal and relentless than ever. When they learn that one of their victims, Maya (Madelaine Petsch), is still alive, they return to finish what they’ve started. With nowhere to run and no one to trust, Maya must survive another horrific chapter of terror as The Strangers – driven by a senseless, unceasing purpose – pursue her, more than willing to kill anyone who stands in their way.
With a script penned by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland, based on the characters created by Bryan Bertino, “The Strangers: Chapter 2” has a producing team that consists of Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, and Charlie Dombek.
While Harlin is likely known to many as an action director with credits under his belt like “Die Hard 2,” “Cliffhanger,” “The Long Kiss Goodnight,” and “Cutthroat Island.” However, he has also made plenty of horror films in the past as well with “A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master,” the super-shark thriller “Deep Blue Sea, “Exorcist: The Beginning,” and helmed another unreleased “Strangers” movie with “The Strangers: Chapter 3″ expected to be released shortly.
You can watch that new trailer for “The Strangers: Chapter 2” below, as Lionsgate is hoping audiences sink their teeth into their horror trilogy.
