‘A House Of Dynamite’: New Looks At Kathryn Bigelow Military Thriller Hitting Theaters October 10, Before Netflix Debut

Netflix has sent over official still images, including a shot of actress Rebecca Ferguson, for the new Kathryn Bigelow-directed military thriller “A House of Dynamite,” which is set to debut in theaters in limited release on October 10 before streaming exclusively on the app come October 24.

Bigelow made a name for herself with a huge career resurgence with projects like “The Hurt Locker” and “Zero Dark Thirty,” the former leading to a Best Director Oscar statue, winning over ex-husband James Cameron, who had been nominated in the same category for “Avatar.” Her latest effort features a thriller angle as there is a mystery about a launched missile at the United States, as everyone scrambles to solve its origin and what to do to de-escalate the situation.

The stacked cast assembled for “A House of Dynamite” features Ferguson, Idris Elba, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, with Greta Lee, and Jason Clarke. Also starring Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Kyle Allen, and Kaitlyn Dever.

An official logline provided by Netflix:

When a single, unattributed missile is launched at the United States, a race begins to determine who is responsible and how to respond.

This marks the first effort from Bigelow since 2017’s “Detroit,” with the Oscar-winning filmmaker reuniting with production designer Jeremy Hindle (“Top Gun: Maverick,” “Detroit,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Severance”) and cinematographer Barry Ackroyd (“The Hurt Locker,” “Detroit,” “Jason Bourne”).

A producing team for the new Netflix original features Greg Shapiro, Bigelow, screenwriter Noah Oppenheim, Hindle, Sumaiya Kaveh, and Luca Borghese, alongside executive producers Brian Bell and Sarah Bremner.

We’re expecting that a first-look trailer is next up; until then, check out those new images for “A House of Dynamite” below. The highly anticipated pic is set to screen at the Venice Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.
