Nicole Kidman & Elle Fanning Tapped For Dallas Legal Series ‘Discretion’ At A24

Actresses Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning are now poised to reunite, yet again, for a new legal series from A24 and Chandler Baker, based on her short story, “Discertion.”

Multiple trade outlets, such as The Hollywood Reporter, revealed the tantalizing but mysterious TV project that is said to be a legal drama set in Dallas, Texas, as A24 beat out others in a bidding war for the show, with the studio now shopping the project around to find a home at a network or streamer.

The two had appeared alongside each other in Sofia Coppola‘s remake of “The Beguiled” and were already looking to come together for “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” at Apple, which has the involvement of A24, too.

Baker previously co-wrote the upcoming Prime Video comedic film “Oh, What Fun” with director Michael Showalter, which stars Michelle Pfeiffer. In 2021, her novel “The Husbands” was acquired for Plan B/MGM with Kristen Wiig attached to star in the thriller.

This great news comes after HBO announced it would be finally moving forward with a third season of Kidman’s acclaimed series “Big Little Lies” after multiple delays, as season two aired back in 2019. Some of the other TV projects Kidman has been involved with recently include Lulu Wang‘s “Expats,” HBO’s “The Undoing,” and she had a supporting role in Taylor Sheridan‘s CIA thriller “Lioness.”

Fanning, who co-starred with Nicholas Hoult in “The Great,” has quite the high-profile movie on the horizon with “Predator: Badlands” heading to theaters on November 7, going head-to-head with Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man” remake led by Glen Powell.

We can’t wait to see who else ends up among the cast and what other creatives/directors will be getting involved with “Discretion.”
