“You know how they got ‘Harlem Nights‘? I was like, ‘What if we did “South Central Nights,” like what South Central used to be? Seeing Haddish working with a string of accomplished directors is certainly a direction that could end up leading her nabbing Oscar nominations as the actress continues to collect awards caliber roles.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest movie shot during the pandemic was using the working title “Soggy Bottom” for filming but has seemingly taken the name “Licorice Pizza” as a new Twitter account has popped up and was heading towards a holiday release. The title is a nod to vinyl records and the era of the 1970s. It’s not confirmed, but several reports, including one that claims to have seen the trailer in front of a screening of “American Graffiti,” point to a strong likelihood of this being true (the film apparently fits nicely along with American Graffiti” too according to those that witnessed the trailer). Update: Another person who has seen the trailer emailed us to confirm that is the title, so that feels like a fait accompli.

The film stars Bradley Cooper, Cooper Hoffman, Benny Safdie, Ben Stiller, John C. Reilly, Alana Haim, Christopher Walken, Sean Penn, and others.
