‘The Housemaid’ First Look: Paul Feig Directs Sydney Sweeney & Amanda Seyfried In New Thriller Arriving December 19

Filmmaker Paul Feig‘s “Another Simple Favor” hit theaters back in March, but that won’t be the only film of his that audiences can enjoy in 2025, as in December, his new thriller “The Housemaid” graces screens, and we can share some first-look images from it.

Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar, Michele Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins star with a producing team that consists of Todd Lieberman, Laura Fischer, and Feig.

THE HOUSEMAID is a wildly entertaining thriller starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, based on the best-selling book. From director Paul Feig, the film plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems. Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sweeney) accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.

Speaking of Seyfried, the actress also recently confirmed to Deadline that indeed “Mamma Mia! 3” is happening and is currently in development. Although unclear who is behind it, as Phyllida Lloyd and Ol Parker helmed the previous two popular jukebox musical installments.

Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine penned the script for “The Housemaid,” which is based on the novel by author Freida McFadden.You can check out those aforementioned new images from “The Housemaid” below, as the pic is coming out on December 19.
