Next month, audiences will finally be able to watch Max Minghella‘s latest directorial effort, “Shell,” which stars Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Kate Hudson (“Running Point”). The satirical wellness slasher has landed a trailer and was shared with us today, highlighting the striking concept that feels like it was pulled straight out of “Black Mirror.”
Minghella, who is also an actor known for David Fincher‘s acclaimed Facebook biopic “The Social Network” and recently joined the cast of the DC Comics body horror flick “Clayface,” directs from a script written by Jack Stanley and previously had its world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
The official synopsis for “Shell” via Republic Pictures:
Desperate to reclaim her career, once-beloved actress Samantha Lake (Elisabeth Moss) is drawn into the glamorous world of wellness mogul Zoe Shannon (Kate Hudson) —only to uncover a monstrous truth beneath its flawless surface.
Arian Moayed, Este Haim, Elizabeth Berkley (“Showgirls”), and Kaia Gerber also have supporting roles in the genre-bending pic.
A producing team assembled for the movie consists of Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Minghella, Moss, Lindsey McManus, Hal Sadoff, Norman Golightly, Alicia Van Couvering, Anthony Brandonisio, and Renee Minasian. Jamie Bell, Peter Micelli, Stanley, Daryl Katz, Chloe Katz, Paul Marcaccio, Teddy Schwarzman, John Friedberg, Jill Silfen, Jared D. Underwood, Andrew C. Robinson, Danny Mandel, Logan Bailey, Victor Moyers, Michael Bohlmann, and Rene W. Bastian make up the group of executive producers.
