It’s only been two years since the last film from veteran British filmmaker Mike Leigh, and we now know his next project is going to be heading to U.S. theaters, as “Tender Loving Care” is coming December 4, courtesy of Bleecker Street, as announced today. Assembled for Leigh’s latest is a group of talented actors such as Marion Bailey (“The Crown”), Paul Jesson (“Mr. Turner”), recent “Widow’s Bay” breakout Kate O’Flynn (having just nabbing an Primetime Emmy Awards nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series after dazzling audiences in the hit Apple TV series), and Alice Bailey Johnson (“Hard Truths”).
Sadly, we’re without a concrete logline or in-depth details, but “Tender Loving Care” is being described by the studio as “an insightful and compassionate exploration of the contemporary world. Using his distinctive cinematic voice, Leigh delves into themes that challenge and resonate with modern audiences.” With Georgina Lowe set to serve as producer as well.

A snapshot of Leigh’s acclaimed credits over the decades includes “Life Is Sweet,” “Naked,” “Secrets & Lies,” “Career Girls,” “Vera Drake,” “Happy-Go-Lucky,” “Another Year,” “Mr. Turner,” “Peterloo,” and “Hard Truths,” the latter of which was also released by Bleecker in 2024.
Some of the other titles on Bleecker’s upcoming slate feature a new Elon Musk documentary, about the mega-wealthy tech-bro and MAGA devotee, arriving stateside on October 16, called “Musk” from Alex Gibney, which also hails from HBO Documentary Films and Universal Pictures Content Group (UPCG). “An epic look behind the legend of Elon Musk, the world’s most heralded ‘inventor-entrepreneur,’ who has enormous influence on the world in which we all live.”
A producing team for “Musk” has Gibney, Jessie Deeter, and Erin Edeiken from Jigsaw Productions; Zhang Xin and Joey Marra from Closer Media; Nick Shumaker and Jessica Grimshaw at Anonymous Content; and Dana O’Keefe from Double Agent. Also involved are executive producers such as Double Agent’s Michael Heimler, Yariv Milchan, Natalie Lehmann, and Emily Selinger; Richard Perello at Jigsaw; William Horberg from Closer Media; David Levine from Anonymous Content; as well as Kent Sanderson and Tyler DiNapoli for Bleecker.
Lastly, their Zachary Wigon-directed period thriller, “Victorian Psycho.” That one coming out on September 25 has Maika Monroe, Jason Isaacs, and Thomasin McKenzie among the lead cast, after premiering at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim (The Playlist reviewed the pic during our festival coverage).
