‘Dust Bunny’ First Look: Mads Mikkelsen Reunites With ‘Hannibal’ Creator For Monster Under The Bed Pic Premiering At TIFF

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen (“Another Round”) and Bryan Fuller are making their big “Hannibal” reunion with the upcoming horror movie “Dust Bunny,” which just saw a first-look image make its way online.

The horror-obsessed folks over at Bloody Disgusting shared a still from “Dust Bunny” (debuting at the Toronto International Film Festival and written/directed by Fuller) showcasing Mikkelsen in character as an intriguing neighbor enlisted by an eight-year-old girl to help kill the monster under her bed that she believes ate her family.

Mikkelsen, a rather big name in the world of genre himself, also has some impressive names on the call-sheet in the wicked fairy tale, with David Dastmalchian (“The Last Voyage of The Demeter,” “Blade Runner 2049”), Rebecca Henderson (“Russian Doll,” “Westworld,” “The Acolyte”), and Sigourney Weaver (“The Mandalorian & Grogu,” “Avatar: Fire & Ash”) also taking supporting roles.

Back in May, we learned that Mikkelsen is also gearing up for Ramin Bahrani‘s prison drama “Last Meals,” co-starring Boyd Holbrook and Lee Smith‘s Arctic-set action thriller “Sirius.”

Fuller, you might remember, was once tapped by A24 to help with their “Friday The 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake” (set as creator, writer, and showrunner) only for creative differences to arise and subsequent exit of the project, seemingly pivoting to “Dust Bunny.” It would eventually get retooled, and Linda Cardellini was cast as Pamela Vorhees, the original killer of the beloved summer camp slasher film.

Lionsgate is said to be releasing “Dust Bunny” on December 5 with a producing team that features Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, the pair being best known for their work on the mega-popular “John Wick” franchise.
