Zombie movies are making a comeback! “We Bury The Dead” is a new feature film with a cast led by British actress Daisy Ridley, as it looks like a bio-weapon is unleashed on the population, leading to the dead as they’re being cleaned up, starting to become zombies attacking the living. Brenton Thwaites (“Titans”), Mark Coles Smith (“Mystery Road: Origin”), and Matt Whelan (“Narcos”) are also set for roles in the upcoming pic.
It certainly feels like the new movie directed and written by Zak Hilditch is taking pages from previous entries in the popular horror sub-genre with a military angle like “28 Weeks Later,” “Day of the Dead,” “The Girl With All The Gifts,” “The Last of Us,” “The Walking Dead,” and “Army of the Dead.”

An official logline for the new horror movie, courtesy of Vertical:
After a catastrophic military disaster, the dead don’t just rise – they hunt. The military insists they are harmless and slow-moving, offering hope to grieving families. But when Ava (Daisy Ridley) enters a quarantine zone searching for her missing husband, she uncovers the horrifying truth: the undead are growing more violent, more relentless, and more dangerous with every passing hour.
Ridley’s other film projects on the horizon include the MMA drama “Killa Bee,” Pierre Morel‘s action-thriller “The Good Samaritan,” and is still expected to reprise the Rey Skywalker role for Disney/Lucasfilm in “Star Wars: New Jedi Order,” with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (“Ms. Marvel”) set to direct.
