The Canadian actor has given a bit of update on the film revealing to Collider that they’ve assigned screenwriter Mattson Tomlin to pen the film’s script, who co-wrote the upcoming D.C. Comics reboot film “The Batman” (first in a new trilogy) with director Matt Reeves.

“We’re working on trying to set up a company with the animation, and we’ve hired a writer for the film Mattson Tomlin. He’s been cool and just starting to put things together. That’s where we’re at,” Reeves told Collider.

Tomlin isn’t a stranger to genre or even Netflix projects, having previously worked on the Jamie Foxx film “Project Power” and is developing an anime series set in the world of James Cameron’sTerminator.”

Keanu Reeves has been busy working on multiple action films; he’s still shooting on “John Wick: Chapter 4” and returning to the role of Neo in “The Matrix Resurrections” is set for a holiday release in December. It seems like B. is an alternative role to playing Wolverine, a Marvel Comics character he was once rumored to be in the mix for before Hugh Jackman was ultimately selected to play the iconic mutant in the first “X-Men” movie.

Here is the official synopsis for the comic book from BOOM! Studios:

“The man known only as B. is half-mortal and half-God, cursed and compelled to violence…even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the world for centuries, B. may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B. will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.”
