‘Ready Or Not: Here I Come’ Adds Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood & More To Radio Silence’s Satirical Horror Sequel

Radio Silence is returning for a sequel to their satirical horror flick “Ready Or Not” alongside Aussie actress Samara Weaving, with the title officially revealed as “Ready Or Not: Here I Come.”

That’s not it, as we’ve learned directly from Searchlight Pictures that the cast for the sequel will include “Scream” franchise alumni Sarah Michelle Gellar (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”), Elijah Wood (“Yellowjackets”), Kathryn Newton (“Big Little Lies”), Shawn Hatosy (“The Pitt”), Néstor Carbonell (“The Dark Knight”), Kevin Durand (“Abigail”), and Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg (“Jason X”).

The filmmaking team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (collectively known as Radio Silence) was previously behind the last two installments of “Scream” (Franchise screenwriter Kevin Williamson is currently handling directing duties on “Scream 7“), the vampire thriller “Abigail,” and helmed the original “Ready or Not.”

“We’re thrilled to be returning to the world of ‘Ready or Not’ with Samara, Brett, Avery, and Andrew,” said Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett in an official statement announcing the new casting for “Ready or Not: Here I Come,” “and so excited to work with this immensely talented cast and the incredible artists across every department joining the ‘Ready or Not’ family.”

A deadly game of hide-and-seek in an elaborate mansion was the main gist of the original installment, as Weaving’s bride character was hunted by her in-laws on her wedding night. We can only assume more violent antics are in store for audiences.

“Ready or Not” was a bit of a sleeper hit as the $6 million budgeted flick ended up earning a decent $57.6 million at the global box office (covering it’s reasonable production budget in the domestic opening weekend making $8 million) and has since gained a bit of a loyal following from horror genre fans due to the comedic angle.

Production on “Ready or Not: Here I Come” has kicked off in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Given the quick turnaround on horror films, we likely won’t have to wait too long to learn when the sequel will be heading to theaters.
