Today, we can share a new trailer for a lovely-looking documentary about the late rockstar and reality show star Ozzy Osbourne (affectionately known as The Prince of Darkness), around the time he cancelled his farewell tour, as explored in “Ozzy: No Escape From Now,” and is heading to Paramount+ next month.
This new documentary is directed by BAFTA award winner Tania Alexander in collaboration with the Osbourne family. Interviews in the film feature words from Ozzy and Sharon, alongside their children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne, as the group spoke “candidly about the late-night fall their father suffered in February 2019 and the subsequent life-changing impact of that accident, which ultimately led to him cancelling his two-and-a-half-year farewell tour.”

Detailing his numerous corrective surgeries, escalating health issues, and the progressive effects of his Parkinson’s diagnosis, “Ozzy: No Escape From Now” delivers a brave, unvarnished, and relatable portrait of a man, highlighting how Ozzy’s ongoing chronic pain impacted his mental health and informed the music he made during this period.
Many will be familiar with Ozzy’s longstanding music career that goes back to the early ’60s and in the height of stadium heavy metal’s popularity in the 1980s, but became an early reality TV show star thanks to the MTV series “The Osbournes” which attempted to explore the chaotic day-to-day life of the family (minus daughter Aimee, who particpates in the doc, but opted not to be involved with the original show) and allowed Ozzy to speak about his struggles with addiction, their family dynamics nagivating fame, and reoccuring health issues (Sharon was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment during that time).
Osbourne sadly passed away in July, crushing a legion of fans across the globe after his massively successful final stage performance amassed millions for local charities in Birmingham, England, where the “Back to the Beginning” had an impressive lineup of a mix of contemporary and veteran bands (Tool, Lamb of God, Tom Morello, Anthrax, Metallica, Mastodon, Pantera, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Gorjia, and others played at the event) and was capped by the final performance of Ozzy alongside his pioneering metal band Black Sabbath.
You can watch the trailer for the upcoming feature-length documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now” below, which will be available to stream on October 7.
