Ever since “Spider-Man: No Way Home” put Andrew Garfield back in the Spidey costume for the successful Multiverse flick, the internet has tried to convince fandom that Sony Pictures was trying to develop “The Amazing Spider-Man 3.” However, the actor himself dispels any sort of franchise revival in a new interview and even a longstanding theory about his return to the MCU.
Garfield, while promoting his new movie “After The Hunt,” was tasked to field questions from all corners of the internet for GQ Magazine when, of course, his future as Spider-Man was brought up concerning “Amazing Spider-Man 3,” but the actor wasn’t terribly optimistic with his response, stating, “It’s not happening, and I don’t believe it ever will, but sweet of you to want it to happen.”
That’s not the only Spidey/Marvel rumor that the actor is trying to dispel to GQ. “No. Unequivocally, f***ing no,” Garfield bluntly said when asked by a fan online about his participation in the Russo Brothers‘ “Avengers: Doomsday.”
Of course, fans will believe what they want despite Garfield’s comments here; many have convinced themselves that every legacy Marvel actor defaults to lie about their involvement in these Multiverse event films, and given his deceptive attempts to prevent his “No Way Home” cameo from leaking, it’ll be hard for the internet to take his word even if he’s telling the truth this time around.
