‘Crutch’ Trailer: Tracy Morgan Returns To TV With Harlem Family Sitcom Premiering November 3 On Paramount+

Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock” alum Tracy Morgan is making his grand return to television with his new series “Crutch,” a spinoff show set in Harlem at Paramount+ set within the world of “The Neighborhood” as it debuts next month.

“Crutch” also stars Jermaine Fowler (“Superior Donuts”), Tony Award winner Kecia Lewis (“Hell’s Kitchen”), Adrianna Mitchell (“Snowfall”), Adrian Martinez (“The Amateur”), Braxton Paul (“Sesame Street”), and Finn Maloney (“Suncoast”).

If you weren’t already aware of the crossover/spinoff, Morgan’s Crutch is the cousin of Credic The Entertainer‘s character Calvin from the CBS sitcom “The Neighborhood,” where Crutch first made his appearance.

An official logline for the new sitcom via Paramount+:

Set in the world of the CBS Original Comedy “The Neighborhood,” “Crutch” centers on its titular character, Francois “Frank” Crutchfield (Morgan), who goes by “Crutch,” a brash, yet beloved Harlem shop owner whose world is turned upside down when his highbrow son and free-spirited daughter move back into the family home.

Morgan’s brand of charming and absurdist humor has made a huge mark on the comedy community for decades, going back to his stand-up days (when he would make scene-stealing guest appearances on shows like “Martin“), and seeing him take on more of a sitcom leading role, over just a supporting player, is quite the attractive prospect.

“Crutch” is coming from Cedric and his production company, A Bird & A Bear Entertainment, with a team of executive producers led by Cedric, Eric C. Rhone, Owen Smith (creator and showrunner), Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment, Wendi Trilling for TrillTV, Mike Mariano, and Morgan. The new spinoff series is also produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution outside of Paramount+ markets.

You can check out that new series trailer for “Crutch” below, as it will make its streaming premiere on November 3, with all eight episodes dropping on that date.
