Director Ron Howard is back with “Eden,” a compelling thriller based on the true story of a group of disillusioned outsiders set on a remote island (Isle of Floreana, part of the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador), and now has a new trailer sent to us by Vertical to share.
If you weren’t already aware, “Eden” boasts a stellar cast of actors assembled for the pic that features Jude Law (“The Order”), Ana de Armas (“Ballerina”), Vanessa Kirby (“The Fantastic Four: First Steps”), Daniel Brühl (“All Quiet On The Western Front”), and Sydney Sweeney (“Echo Valley”).

The official logline for “Eden” courtesy of Vertical:
Director Ron Howard’s Eden unravels the shocking true story of a group of disillusioned outsiders who abandon civilization, settling on a remote, uninhabited island only to discover that the greatest threat isn’t the brutal climate or deadly wildlife, but each other. As tensions spiral and desperation takes hold, a twisted power struggle unfolds, leading to betrayal, violence, and the deaths of half the colony.
Howard, who was recently seen playing a comedic version of himself in the Seth Rogen and Apple TV+ satricial series “The Studio,” is set to work with Sweeney’s “Anyone But You” co-star Glen Powell on a Texas-set firefighter movie at Amazon MGM Studios that is based on an original pitch from “Batgirl” and “Birds of Prey” screenwriter Christina Hodson.
View the latest trailer for Howard’s “Eden” below as the thriller is coming to theaters on August 22. The Playlist reviewed the pic when it screened at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, and you can read that right here.
