Ezra Miller Says They’re Co-Writing That Mysterious Vampire Movie With Director Lynne Ramsay

Many were surprised when controversial actor Ezra Miller showed up to the Cannes Film Festival in May to support their “We Need To Talk About Kevin” director, Lynne Ramsay, at the premiere of her new film “Die My Love.” As Miller and Ramsay are gearing up to work together on a new movie.

Miller shared a new detail with Italian outlet Lo Speciale Giornale (via Variety) about his reunion with Ramsay, confirming they are indeed involved with a gestating vampire film and that they are co-writing that pic with the filmmaker.

“I’m working with her again, that will likely be the first thing I do. It’s a film that her and I are writing together,” Ezra Miller said of their collaboration with Ramsay. “And I came to Cannes because she asked me to come, and if there’s anything I really still believe in in my life, it’s devotion to one’s people, one’s loved ones…above all else.” Although we’re still waiting for further details on the project.

Seeing Miller’s tentative return to Hollywood is a little shocking on its own, but even odder that it would come from a reunion with Ramsay. This comes after the actor had seen a string of arrests that included charges of disorderly conduct and harassment, second-degree assault, and burglary. On top of all that, in June 2022, separate orders of protection were issued against Miller on behalf of an 18-year-old in Standing Rock Sioux tribal court and a 12-year-old child in Massachusetts, alleging inappropriate behavior. While both of those orders were eventually lifted, later that same summer, Miller issued an apology for their behavior, those arrests, and revealed they were seeking help for “complex mental health issues.”

Since then, Miller hasn’t been announced for any huge projects, and the future of Ezra Miller’s acting career has been up in the air before Ramsay revealed this new vampire movie. With that said, Miller’s relationship with Warner Bros. was ultimately severed during that time, as both the DC Comics (Miller playing DC hero The Flash) and “Harry Potter” film franchises have been given hard reboots.
